Key Responsibilities:

• Explore next-gen cryptographic algorithms and protocols to push the boundaries of the XRPL and broader crypto ecosystem.
• Work alongside engineers and product teams to transform innovative projects into tangible solutions.
• Design and develop technical specifications and academic papers; independently create proof-of-concept prototypes.
• Collaborate closely with the engineering team to implement and integrate your research into real-world applications.
• Provide strategic guidance to ensure alignment with Ripple’s goals.
• Represent Ripple’s research in the crypto community through participation in academic conferences, workshops, and hackathons.
• Work across departments including engineering, legal, compliance, and business development to deliver the best developer experience.

What You’ll Bring:

• Strong familiarity with the latest blockchain cryptography and security practices.
• Deep knowledge of elliptic curve cryptography, multi-party computation, and threshold cryptography.
• Experience with privacy-enhancing technologies such as homomorphic encryption, differential privacy, federated learning, and zero-knowledge primitives.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, C/C++, Rust, or Go, with familiarity in cryptographic libraries.
• A passion for decentralized technologies and a keen intellectual curiosity.
• Strong communication skills, capable of explaining complex concepts to diverse audiences.
• Detail-oriented with a commitment to excellence.
• Currently enrolled in a PhD program in Cryptography, Computer Security, Computer Science, or Mathematics.

Nice to Have (But Not Required):

• Experience with the XRP Ledger (XRPL) and direct work in Crypto/Blockchain.
• Other titles for this role: Blockchain Researcher, Cryptography Researcher, Cryptographer.
