The UK Gambling Commission has released its latest update on gambling habits in Great Britain, revealing that overall participation has remained consistent from 2023. The Gambling Survey for Great Britain (GSGB), covering January 15 to April 28, shows that while the percentage of gamblers has held steady, a significant shift is occurring in the types of gambling activities being engaged in.

The sample size for this year’s survey increased to 5,191 participants from last year’s 4,801, marking an 8% growth. Despite this increase, the overall gambling participation rate has remained stable at 48%. When excluding lottery activities, this rate drops to 27%, highlighting a notable preference for non-lottery gambling options.
